Samuel F Hines



Prior to forming Casla Partners in 2010, Mr. Hines was a Principal with Apollo Management, an investment firm with over $114 billion of assets under management. At Apollo, Mr. Hines oversaw a team responsible for special situations investment activity. Prior to Apollo, he was a Vice President with Fox Paine & Co., LLC., a middle market private equity firm with $3 billion of assets under management. Prior to Fox Paine, Mr. Hines founded, operated, and sold a UK based health club software services company. Prior to his entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Hines was a Senior Associate with Lone Star Partners, a global private equity fund with $11 billion under management. Mr. Hines began his career as a Financial Analyst with the Princes Gate Private Equity Fund of Morgan Stanley.


Mr. Hines graduated with an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and earned an undergraduate degree from the Honors Business Program at the University of Texas.




Patricia C Johnson



Ms. Johnson joined Casla Partners in 2013 and currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer, where she oversees accounting and tax compliance of the management and portfolio companies.  She facilitates the financial operations of certain fund managed operating companies.  Prior to joining Casla, Ms. Johnson was the Chief Financial Officer of Techne Inc., (Bibby Scientific, USA) an international manufacturer and distributor of life science laboratory equipment.  During her tenure at Techne Inc., Ms. Johnson was involved in numerous transactions including industry roll up and ultimate sale of the company.  Before Techne Inc., Ms. Johnson worked at KPMG and Merrill Lynch Asset Management.


Ms. Johnson earned a Masters in Taxation with Honors from Drexel University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rider University magna cum laude.  Ms. Johnson is a Certified Public Accountant.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  


Jeffrey J Morales



Mr. Morales joined Casla in 2017.  Prior to Casla, Mr. Morales was a Managing Director with Newstone Capital Partners, a firm investing in debt and equity capital in leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and later stage growth financing transactions.  Mr Morales has experience in originating, executing and monitoring mezzanine debt and equity investments in middle market companies across a wide variety of industries.  Prior to Newstone, Mr. Morales was a Vice President with the Goldman Sachs Specialty Lending investment group.  At Goldman, Mr. Morales was responsible for evaluating and executing investments in senior and junior debt and equity in middle market companies.  Prior to business school, Mr. Morales was an Associate with TCW/Crescent Mezzanine and began his career with Deutsche Bank as a Financial Analyst.


Mr. Morales graduated with an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and earned an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jared P Rochwerg



Mr. Rochwerg joined Casla Partners in 2010 and currently serves as a Partner of the firm. Prior to Casla, Mr. Rochwerg served as Vice President of Corporate Development at SkyLink Aviation, Inc., an Apollo Management portfolio company. Previously, Mr. Rochwerg was an Associate in the Special Situations Group at Apollo Management, where he focused on generating and evaluating privately negotiated transactions, public distressed debt, and public equity investments. Prior to Apollo, Mr. Rochwerg was an Associate at Greenbriar Equity Group, a $1.5 billion transportation-focused private equity fund. Mr. Rochwerg began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group at Merrill Lynch & Co.


Mr. Rochwerg earned an Honors Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, graduating with distinction.
